The friends that hurt are usually not trying to hurt but either they don’t know how to help, are trying to be supportive by agreeing with you, or have their own issues with anxiety. These are the people that you go to and instead of calming you down they hype you up. Instead of challenging he crazy thoughts that you have in your head they add fuel to the fire. Instead of derailing the crazy train these friends jump on the crazy train with you. These are the friends you want to avoid when your anxiety levels are creeping up.

They are the ones that can help you with your breathing so you don’t pass out. They’re the ones that know you and know what works in decreasing your anxiety levels versus escalating them.
